Travel Content Strategy and SEO

Client had a high-level large website (several hundred articles) running on WordPress and a top social media presence.
The objective was to support further the company’s growth with content and strengthen its presence in SERPs.
Growth Content Strategy
This project implied crafting a growth content strategy to further expand the business, managing content production and SEO content optimization.
The project’s length was a little over a year. During this interval, I led the content team and defined the strategy. We published on average 2-3 long-form blogs a day (2000 words +). And for the off-page campaign, we created about 10 articles a month.
As a direct consequence of the team’s efforts with content creation and publishing, we saw some great results in terms of organic traffic and organic keywords.
Organic Traffic Almost Doubled in One Year
As this was an already established site, with good authority and solid content marketing in place, all marketing efforts were channelized to sustain the development and reach the next level in business.
The site already had several hundred high-quality articles, optimized for SEO in the majority, the team’s task was to update the existing content and produce high-level content at scale.
Putting in place an aggressive publishing calendar – 2-3 articles a day – with original world-class photography (of paramount importance for dwelling time and engagement) resulted in almost doubling the traffic in about a year.
The organic traffic climbed from 97,472 visits in July 2021 to 183,814 in September 2022 or an increase of 88.5%.
The Number of Organic Keywords Increased by 134.8 %
Creating and publishing SEO optimized content aggressively, corroborated with a sustained backlink campaign, brought the expected results.
The number of organic keywords went from 136,101 in July 2021 to 319,585 in September 2022, or an increase of 134.8%.
The number of keywords in top 3 of search engines surged from 2,905 to 7,008, or 141.2%
